Automated Motor Unit Number Estimation (MUNE)

Title

Automated Motor Unit Number Estimation

Short name

Automated MUNE

Principal Investigator

Michael Benatar, MD, PhD

Site-PI

Summary

Motor unit number estimation (MUNE) is a physiological technique that estimates the number of motor units in an individual muscle (or muscle group). Performance of the technique is time-consuming and requires an experienced investigator. The goal of this study is to design and develop an automated device that can be used by an investigator with limited technical expertise to quickly produce a reliable motor unit number estimate.
